United Farmers Coop – Winthrop, MN

The new fertilizer facility at Winthrop, MN stores 38,000 ton of fertilizer in seven bins. The facility was designed for maximum efficiency and productivity. This allowed the coop to reduce the number of facilities required to serve their customer base.

The 800 TPH receiving system is designed to unload unit trains at a rate of approximately 8 minutes per car. A separate hopper for truck unloading is also included.

A single in-floor reclaim system is utilized to fill either the 200 ton blend tower of the 150 ton wholesale tower. A second reclaim system can be installed in the future. The 250 TPH system provides efficient conveying of conditioned product.

The two separate towers allow for simultaneous losing of blended or straight product. Through-put rates of up to 350 TPH are achieved.

The facility utilizes state of the art computer automation to monitor and control both receiving and load-out operations.

This facility will serve a large radius and allows the coop to reduce the number of facilities needed to serve its’ trade area as well as supply other companies.

The inland terminal concept allows the owner to utilize people and equipment more efficiently and ensures product will be available for all its’ customers.
